We are still on about mental health and young people and we have simple ways that parents and guardians can make a difference in their child’s mental health.
One way to help build a healthy mind for a child is to keep learning. Learning is not just for school or the you carried first position attitude.
Encourage children and young people to read for fun. Sometimes we have made reading feel like a scary chore for children and it discourages them from learning.
Learning is also not just about books. Pass on the skills of cooking, sewing, photography, DIY and baking so that children know learning can be fun. If you don’t have any of these skills, you can learn as well; it will also make you encourage your child to learn such skills.
Take advantage of the book clubs and libraries you have in your community. Encourage children and young people to learn new skills by doing this, we will build their confidence and resilience.
